[BtGS] Bard - Violet Blythe

About + Character:
Violet is what you would normally expect of a Hylian young at heart - outgoing, adventurous, and a bit weird. Drawn to the idea of mystery and grandeur since her childhood, Violet is willing to take up difficult tasks if it means widening her horizons. This trait of her sometimes bites her in the backside, because her eagerness to take on challenges can bring her unnecessary pressure, or even more potential challenges to face. As one might guess, this tends to burn her out in the end.

The only "challenge" Violet is not drawn to is fighting. After all, she knows best that it is better to pick your own battles (or not) than it is to be a burden to the others, especially those more proficient at fighting. Not to mention, she doesn't even have a weapon! Unless she is forced to fight for a goal, or if her friends are in danger, Violet will prioritize fleeing from enemies over anything else.

When she interacts with other people, she has a tendency to ramble in musical terms, which may cause other people to be confused at what she is trying to say. Those who become close to Violet, or those who can understand her occasional rambling, may just find her a great individual to hang out with.

History:
As a child, Violet was never very proficient in the art of combat, finding it difficult to wield a weapon as decently as the people around her. As such, while the other children were playing with toy swords and spears, she would instead play music with her grandmother whenever she wanted to bide time.

Whenever they spent time together, Violet would play alongside her grandmother with her mandolin that they built together. (Actually, "Grangran" did all the work; Violet just played around with the materials.) Listening to her grandmother recall tales of the past and songs of old, Violet became engrossed in music. She also learnt of the ways of the bard, from the retired grandmother who spoke of her past adventures. Violet's days weren't as action-heavy as other people, but it was just as joyful to her.

Her grandmother passed away during her adolescence. Violet deeply missed her, as well as the music they played together. She swore to never stop picking up her mandolin and playing music, not only hoping a little that it would fill the void in her heart, but also to share with everyone the many songs she inherited from her grandmother.

Word that the waters in a part of the South Sea were safe to travel reached her ears one day, and its stories reminded her of the ones her grandmother used to tell her. She thought it fitting to start a brand new life there; maybe, like her grandmother, she would join a group of fellow travelers (or even a whole community) and uncover the mystery of the darkness. And who knows, maybe she'll find new people to share her grandmother's music with...

Other Notes:
- Violet's parents are still around, but they live in the island far outside of the South Sea. Violet rarely writes to them, but she still loves and remembers them (...and their food).
- Violet and her mandolin aren't inseparable - she only brings her mandolin outside if she 1) knows there's no immediate danger around that would cause damage to the instrument; 2) it would be useful in the situation at hand; or 3) she just wants to play music.

Instrument: Mandolin (Strings Family) - (1H) The instrument that her grandmother made for her when she was a child. As Violet's most valuable treasure, she takes great lengths to care for it and keep it in mint condition.
